Chanda Bell is just as highly regarded as any softball pitcher in the state, and she’s in the midst of closing out her career with a fine senior season. As we find out, the Franklin Central star is quite fond of warm weather as we quizzed her head coach and her pitching coach to see who knows Chanda best.

    1. What is Chanda’s dream car? The car I have now, a 2004 white Mustang!

    2. If Chanda could live anywhere in the world for one year, where would it be? Somewhere warm so I don’t have to play ball in the cold.

Some place warm. She hates the cold, and it would help her mom’s arthritis.
    3. What is Chanda’s favorite pitch to throw? The riseball

Has to be the riseball. And when she’s on, it’s awesome!
    4. If Chanda won the lottery, what is her first indulgence? Move my family to Arizona
Buy a different Ford Mustang for each day of the week.

    5. Better feeling: pitching a shutout or driving in a game-winning run? A shutout is nice, but I have to say a game-winning hit is a better feeling.

    6. Who is Chanda’s favorite teacher at school? Mrs. Dickerson

    9. What does Chanda want to be remembered for at Franklin Central? For being a good leader, a good pitcher and a good person
Her hard word on the field and in the classroom, and her passion for the game
Being a good leader and setting an example of a true student-athlete.
    10. What is the most difficult thing about being Chanda Bell? Juggling softball, school, friends and family…but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
The constant pressure to perform on the field and in class, but she thrives in those situations!
