Chanda Bell is just as highly regarded as any softball pitcher in the state, and she's in the midst of closing out her career with a fine senior season. As we find out, the Franklin Central star is quite fond of warm weather as we quizzed her head coach and her pitching coach to see who knows Chanda best.

Lawrence North senior Traquincey Wilson is a dual threat for the Wildcats track team. The defending state long jump champion (23-feet, 6 inches) can fly on the track as well, his 10.75 third place finish in the 100-meter dash finals as proof. HSSTM quizzed Tra, his mom and his coach to see who knows him best, because life is not a short sprint.

Greenwood's Corbin Mitchell had a solid state tournament as a junior, placing first at sectionals and tying for second at regionals individually. Now a senior, Mitchell hopes to improve upon his 36-hole state finals score of 151 (t-19) and lead the Woodmen back to a sectional title as a team. HSSTM quizzed Corbin, his mom and his coach to see who knows him best.

One name of a state champion you might not recognize is Becca Porter. As just a sophomore, the girls tennis standout at Center Grove won a doubles title with an undefeated record. Now a senior and four-year varsity player for the Trojans, HSSTM quizzed her mom and her coach to see who knows Becca best.

"Becca is a dedicated player that is easy to coach," says Center Grove coach Debby Burton. "She gives 100 percent at all times and is committed to the team. Her skills on the court are outstanding and I am looking forward to what she will accomplish her senior season." ...

Lawrence Central captured the gymnastics title last year largely due to the performance of sophomore Jessie Leko, who finished fourth in the All-Around. Leko accumulated 37.3 points at the state meet, including a second place finish in the uneven bars and fifth place in the balance beam. Because not everything is a perfect dismount, HSSTM quizzed her mom and her coach to find out who knows Leko best.

Last February, Westfield's Ben Wachtel became the first swimmer in school history to win a state title at the IUPUI Natatorium - and he didn't win just one title. Now a senior, Wachtel is back to defend his crown in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyles during next month's state tournament. HSSTM quizzed his dad and his coach to see who knows Wachtel best.
