One key returning player from a surprise run by Carmel to the volleyball state finals last season is junior Emily Reber. She packs a punch at just 5-foot-2, leading the team a season ago in digs with 278. The Greyhounds open their season on Aug. 19 against county rival Hamilton Southeastern and will follow that up with a tough test against Avon, one of the preseason favorites in Class 4A.
