During Westfield’s 9-6 win over Brownsburg, Kevin Plawecki slides around Bulldogs catcher Tucker Barnhart. That game between the two teams was designated their “Baseball Strikes Out ‘K’ancer” contest, in the Indiana Baseball Coaches Association’s state-wide effort to raise funds for the fight against cancer. Participating schools, including several from around the area, received donations based on various game factors such as total strikeouts or total hits between the teams.
