Need a basketball fix in April? Don't get fidgety. There's more to come before the summer months. Much more. It starts this week. A busy weekend is on tap for several high school basketball-related events. Stan Benge, coach of the 2009 USA Today national champion Ben Davis girls basketball team, is one of three Indianapolis-area coaches scheduled to speak at the Indiana Basketball Coaches' Association annual Spring Clinic at Lawrence North High School. The two-day clinic, which provides a wealth of information to both young and older coaches alike, is for state-wide coaches and other IBCA members who've already registered. Benge's younger brother, Curt, the girls coach at Plainfield, will speak Saturday on "Man-to-Man Pressure Defense.'' Shaun Busick, boys coach at Zionsville, takes to the podium at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. His topic is "Building A Program K-12.'' Indiana's Tom Crean and Ball State's Billy Taylor and Indiana Fever coach Lin Dunn are also listed among the many speakers. Several IBCA awards will be presented.
