Fans Win Big at IHSAA Boys Basketball State Finals

Central Indiana, IN

Monday, March 30, 2009

While eight basketball teams were competing for state supremacy at Conseco Fieldhouse this weekend, hundreds of fans tried their luck at winning two amazing free gifts. Holding two free raffle giveaways on Saturday, VYPE High School Sports Magazine, Central Indiana, awarded David and Kathy Kessinger with an autographed Bill Russell basketball during the morning session of the 99th Annual IHSAA Boys Basketball State Finals. Later that night, Dru Carrigan was the winner, taking home an autographed LeBron James basketball. Both prizes were provided by ManCaveCollectibles.com and were presented to the winner by VYPE HSSM Associate Managing Editor Rich Torres, IHSAA Commissioner Blake Ress and assistant commissioners Sandy Searcy, Theresia Wynns and Bobby Cox. David Kessinger, 50, and his wife Kathy, 43, have been married for 22 years and reside in Jeffersonville. A diehard high school hoops fan, Saturday's Class A title game between Jac-Cen-Del and Triton marked David's 67th Class A game he's attended this year. The South Central Elizabeth High School graduate has also made the trip to the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Finals every year since 2002. Dru Carrigan, 12, attends Merrillville Intermediate School where he plays football, basketball and baseball. Dru is the son of Amy Carrigan and Anthony Diaz and has two sisters and a brother. Coincidentally, his favorite professional basketball player is LeBron James.
