Hamilton Southeastern junior Nathan Kinney enjoyed a record-setting performance at last weekend's 72nd Annual Boys Swimming and Diving State Finals. Kinney claimed three state medals and set two school records in both the 100-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke. He collected his first medal in the 100 freestyle, swimming the event in 45.12 seconds. His time in the 100 backstroke was 49.81. As the anchor on the Royals' 200 freestyle relay team, Kinney captured his third state title. The relay team consisted of Kinney, Zach Snider, Justin Rossillo and Jacob Robinson and finished with a time of 1:25.27. Other Central Indiana winners included North Central, which finished first in the 400 freestyle relay. The team of Ross Van Allen, Alec LaMothe, August Van Allen and Brandon Siemasko completed the event in 3:05.00.
