VYPE is ready for some football

From the first week to the final horn, VYPE High School Sports Magazine has seen every catch, every tackle and every pass. This weekend, the staff is heading down to Lucas Oil Stadium for the final showdown during the 36th Annual IHSAA Football State Finals. Beginning on Friday, five state champions will be decided with two games set for the first day and three on Saturday. Defending Class A state champion Sheridan (13-1) opens "championship weekend" against top-ranked Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (14-0) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Christian (13-1) and Lewis Cass (13-1) contend for the Class 2A title at 7 p.m. later that night. On Saturday, Bellmont (13-1) and Evansville Memorial (12-2) begin the day in the Class 3A title game before undefeated Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (14-0) tangles with Indianapolis Cathedral (11-2) at 3:30 p.m. For the finale, top-ranked Center Grove (13-1) battles Carmel (13-1) for the Class 5A title. On both days, VYPE will be handing out free copies of its latest magazine. Free copies will also be available at the stadium's ticket gates and concession areas.
