3 local players in softball spotlight

Three area softball players earned postseason honors from the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association. Decatur Central senior shortstop Alicia Garrison -- who plans to play for Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis -- earned a spot in the association's North-South All-Star Classic (played last weekend at Ben Davis; Garrison played for the South team). She hit .359 for the Hawks with seven doubles, two triples, a home run and 15 RBIs.
