IBCA Girls Showcase Set for Saturday

Over 20 area players from Central Indiana are scheduled to participate in the sixth annual girls basketball showcase on Saturday at Ben Davis. The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) coordinate the event. Three classes (2009-2011) - a total of 93 girls - are expected to take part in scrimmages and drills. IBCA Girls Top 100 Showcase Saturday, July 12, 2008 - 8:00 a.m. Location: Ben Davis High School 1200 N. Girls School Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46214 Schedule: 8:00-9:00 a.m. - Registration/ check-in for players and coaches - Enter the south side of the building through Entrance 4. After check-in, players and coaches report to the Fitness Center for warm-ups. 9:00-9:15 a.m. - Introductions and expectations; announcements from Coach Witty and Coach Kreiger; Warm-ups by Velocity. 9:15-10:15 a.m. STATIONS (10 min each - 2 Teams per station) Station 1 - Court 1 (1/2 court) Velocity Jumping / Noah Shooting Station 2 & 3 - Courts 2 & 3 Transition Defense and Trans Offense Station 4 - Court 4 (1/2 court) Contain, Protect & contest Station 5 - Court 4 (1/2 court) Rebounding (4 on 4) Station 6 - Court 1 (1/2 court w/ Noah) 1 on 1 moves and ball handling 10:15 - 11:00 a.m. - FIRST SESSION OF GAMES 11:05 - 11:55 a.m. - 2ND SESSION OF GAMES-Fitness Center only Half the teams play and half eat and listen to NCAA presentation from Joyce Thompson.. (Main Gym - Velocity warm-up) 11:55- 12:45 p.m. - 2ND SESSION OF GAMES (Continued) Other half of teams play in Fitness Center while the teams that played at 11:05 proceed to Main gym for lunch and NCAA presentation from Joyce Thompson..
