Carmel Swim Club Joins Respect in Sport

Central Indiana, IN

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

The Carmel Swim Club (CSC) has forged a partnership with CrossConfirm, an authorized provider of the American Red Cross to require its Respect in Sport, USA program for all CSC coaches. Respect in Sport (www.respectinsportusa.com) is an internationally recognized program that educates coaches and protects youth athletes in the areas of bullying, harassment, neglect and various forms of abuse. Respect in Sport USA is delivered via the American Red Cross' world-class online distance learning platform, which trains individuals in all 50 states and 34 countries around the world. "The Carmel Swim Club has long been the premier swim club in Indiana, and one of the top clubs in the United States. We are extremely excited at their leadership in protecting youth athletes. We are proud to be working with them and fully expect that more swim clubs will follow the CSC's example," said Kent Burns, founder and president of CrossConfirm. Chris Plumb, head coach of CSC, added similar thoughts. "We are excited to be working with the American Red Cross and Respect in Sports to help protect our swimmers. Our motto is 'Teaching Excellence Through Swimming. For Life.' And this type of coaching education will only enhance what we already believe." Earlier this year, USA Swimming recognized the Carmel Swim Club as a Silver Medal Award Club by USA Swimming for its commitment to excellence.
