North Central High School will host the 2008 Smith-Brauer Dentistry Great Midwest Classic Soccer Tournament on Sept. 12-13, 2008. The tournament, in its eighth year, is considered to be the premier fall high school soccer tournament in the Midwest. Six of the top teams in the Midwest will participate in this tournament, including current and past state champions and teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation and region, according to the NSCAA/Adidas National rankings. Games will be played on Friday, September 12 at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.. An All-Tournament Team will be selected at the half-time of the Saturday evening games. The elite high school soccer teams that will be participating in the tournament include: Barrington High School (Barrington, IL) *2007 Illinois State Champions Chaminade College Preparatory (St. Louis, MO) *2006 Missouri State Champs Downers Grove South High School (Downers Grove, IL) *2007 Illinois Regional Champions Hinsdale Central High School (Hinsdale, IL) *2007 Illinois Final Four Lexington Catholic High School (Lexington, KY) *2007 Kentucky Final Four North Central High School (Indianapolis, IN) *2007 Indiana Final Four The North Central soccer program is considered one of the elite programs in the state of Indiana, with 427 wins.
