Har-Ber Safety Receives All-American Nomination

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Springdale Har-Ber safety Houston Pruitt has been nominated to play in the 2010 US Army All-American game in San Antonio, Texas, next January. The game is widely recognized as the top high school All-American game in the nation. Pruitt is among just 400 players in the nation to receive the nomination. Pruitt, 5-foot-11, 185-pounder with 4.6 speed, became the first sophomore from Arkansas since Darren McFadden to receive a scholarship from a Division I program when Tulsa extended an offer after the 2008 season. He's been a member of the VYPE Super Squad the past two seasons and was the No. 17 college prospect in the Class of 2010 in the VYPE-U recruiting issue. Pruitt will be featured in this year's VYPE Football Preview that hits newsstands in July. The VYPE-U recruiting rankings will be updated in the statewide issue and Pruitt could see his stock rise as he switches from free safety to strong safety this season. Strong safety is the position most college coaches project Pruitt to play at the next level.
