Siloam Springs' Hannah Allison was named the Gatorade Arkansas Volleyball Player of the Year on Tuesday after leading her team to an unprecedented fifth consecutive state championship. The 5-foot-10 junior setter follows in the footsteps of her sister, Sarah Allison, a middle blocker who was named Gatorade Arkansas Volleyball POTY after the Lady Panthers' state championship run in 2006. Sarah Allison is a redshirt freshman at Kansas State. Hannah Allison, who was featured on the cover of VYPE's August issue, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Class 5A State Tournament after helping the Lady Panthers win a state record fifth straight state title. She had 27 assists, 16 digs, 10 kills and 4 blocks in a 3-1 win against conference rival Greenwood in the finals. Allison was named All-State for the third consecutive season after finishing with 337 assists and 221 kills. Little Rock Christian junior tailback Michael Dyer, whose team lost 24-20 at Siloam Springs in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs, was named the Gatorade Arkansas Football Player of the Year.
