Team of the Week: Conway Wampus Cats

The Conway Wampus Cats are picking up where they left off last year. The defending 7A runner-ups won their own John Stanton Invitational last weekend to improve to 6-1 on the season. For their effort, Conway earns VYPE Team of the Week honors. The Wampus Cats beat Forrest City 64-54 Saturday night to earn the title. CHS handed North Pulaski its first loss (85-69) of the season on Friday night in the semifinals. Conway, who plays Benton Tuesday night, features three players scoring in double-figures — Kenyon McNeaill, Micah Delph and Jarvis Garner. Star forward Jarvis Purifoy recovers from knee surgery and should join the lineup during the second semester.
