VYPE Athlete of the Week: Aaron Cluck

Alma senior Aaron Cluck was all over the field for the Airedales during a 35-14 win against rival Van Buren on Friday.

Cluck had 15 tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 53 yards for a touchdown. He also had four pass deflections and four pancake blocks leading way for the running of quarterback Matt Vinson on offense.

Vinson, a stud shortstop, committed last week to Wichita State on a baseball scholarship.

For Cluck's performance Friday, the 5-foot-9, 175-pounder has been named VYPE's Player of the Week for Week 1. He will be featured as one of the top hitters in the area on the October cover of VYPE-Western Arkansas.

VYPE'S TOP PERFORMERS FOR WEEK 1
- Anthony Sharp, Prairie Grove running back, rushed for 24 times for 204 yards, including 167 yards in the second half, of a 38-32 win against Lavaca.

- Brandon Allen, Fayetteville sophomore quarterback, was 13 of 15 for 285 yards and five touchdowns in his first varsity start, a 35-0 win against LR Central.

- Derek Brinker, Springdale Har-Ber running back, had 26 carries for 157 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-14 win against Greenwood.
