Harding Academy — Wildcats made smooth transition from 2A to 3A. 5. Hoxie — Mustangs defensive tackle Derek Johnson, a Texas commit, ranks as the No. 3 recruit in the state. 6. Earle — Depth is a concern, moving from 2A to 3A, but the Bulldogs boast 12 returning starters from last year's 2A semifinal team. 7. Harrisburg — Hornets' offense needs to help its standout defense to avenge some of the low-scoring losses from last season. 8. Greenland — With its school district safe, Pirates can focus on contending for 3A-1 title. 9. Rison — Death, taxes and Rison in the football playoffs (32 playoff appearances). 10. Lavaca — Senior running back Steffan Espinoza (more than 2,000 rushing yards last season) must carry Golden Arrows to playoff run.
